This is so classic...additional fees within any third-party exchange
ultimately limits the exchange itself (excuse me for my OT comment here, but
this is also the model in statist taxation...sorry, but I couldn't
resist...it is directly parallel.)
Ultimately, the 'law' of un-intended consequenses will come home to roost,
and eBay will recognize the impact, or not.
By contrast, I must say that this List is populated by true Thinkers, and
not a x-section of the general descerning public......which is why I am both
honored and pleased that I discovered you all, and subsequently now have my
most important specimens, not through eBay, yet through our List.

No matter what, eBay will always find a way to take more money from the
deal. I
charge exactly what it cost to ship meaning I lose due to PayPal fees.
Now eBay
wants a chunk. This is getting ridiculous. Buyers complain every time the
post
office raises their fees and this is reflected in the points system. EBay
wants
you to use their shipping but they cannot handle international. They are
not
happy unless they change the system every month. They make it sound like
great
news but it always seems to end up costing the seller more.
Best Regards,
Adam

That's a non sequitur.
The encouragement to keep shipping costs low is competition, not
additional fees
to the seller. It would be interesting to hear the two-step ebay needs to
make
to make these two things jive. My guess is smaller sellers get screwed and
the
larger sellers make special deals.
Nothing new under the Sun.
