vector blue AP substrate

Dear all, I have recently read a paper which described Vector Labs. 
commercial AP substrate Vector Blue (or its kit) as a high resolution 
fluorescent substrate for in situ hybridization. Has anyone tried it for 
this kind of use? Did it work as great as described? I was wondering 
whether it would be possible to make a homemade version of this 
substrate... any clues?
