the HOST_THEMES settings and associated middleware doesn't work on
templates that are extended from.  I.e. if you're view requests index.html
that will respect the HOST_THEMES settings, but anything extended by
index.html will not.

You should really take a look at the template loader that I've mentioned to
you elsewhere.
