hmm, thanks stephen, you're right. that link shows the file / image browser 
working exactly as i expected it should. weird thing is i'm posisitve i 
have pillow installed in the virtualenv i'm using for mezz development... 
i'll have to try to work out what's gong on there.

in terms of wanting to build on what's there to create and improved gallery 
system, is there a recommended way of piggybacking on the existing gallery 
functionality, and just adding features while allowing the built in gallery 
stuff to be updated normally? or am i needing to fork the existing gallery 
stuff to create a version with more features?
