You haven't mentioned if you're referring to forms in the admin section
that admin users enter data into, or forms *made* in the admin section,
that public users of the front-end website enter data into.

In either case the best solution would probably be to override the HTML
template used, and use some JavaScript in your template to add the
behaviour you're describing.
