Hi Gene, Take a look at https://djangopackages.org/grids/g/email/ for a list of mail tools that have been written for Django. Mezzanine is just a lightweight CMS over Django and does not really support the idea of "plugins" as much as "applications". If none of the existing Django mail tools do it for you, using MailChimp with Django (and Mezzanine) is trivial.
