Your video did indeed help! It solved the problem! I'm about half-way through it now (just after "fab all", which worked now thanks to the changes you suggested in the video). I'll continue watching once I'm done writing this.
And just for reference - the "gecos" stuff you removed from the useradd command in the video is to DISABLE the questions about the user's full name, room number, etc. Those fields are known as the gecos fields, so you only got those questions because you removed that flag. Also, and this may just have been a phrasing issue, but "apt update" doesn't update any packages, it only updates the LIST of available packages. "apt upgrade" is what actually downloads and installs updated packages.
