The good news is that the internet offers some great newsletters and e-mail lists, the bad news is that they clutter up our primary email box. One solution is to get another POP email address that you can use just for newsletters and mail lists. Many internet providers offer up to 5 POP e-mails for you. Check with them. Another option is to get a free pop email address at yahoo.com - this option may be best, because if you change internet providers you do not loose all your subscription email lists and newsletters. All you have to do is go to yahoo.com, click on myYahoo and create a new account, activate a mailbox. Then go to options and set up a POP mail account. In order to use the POP option you have to agree to get 1-3 advertisements in that email account, but at least you get to choose what the ads will be for (small business, travel, and many more options). While setting this up I suggest you choose to get mail as TEXT and not HTML, that will make the ads tolerable as well as speed your mail. You can choose to get the ad only once a week and they are not intrusive. Once that account us all set up, go into your email software on your own hard drive and add a user. The pop mail server name is pop.mail.yahoo.com, the smtp name is smtp.mail.yahoo.com and the e-mail name is whatever you used at yahoo.com, mine was [EMAIL PROTECTED] Whew.. once that is done, you can use this new email address for all your subscription based newsletters and mail lists - and all the mail will be separate from your primary email. Now you can read your subscription mail only when you have the time and your main email box will not be cluttered with non-essential messages.
