As with negotiating salaries, negotiating a raise also requires
preparation and organization of how you are going to go about it.

Find out about the company policy
Different companies have different policies regarding salary
increments depending on the amount and the time of the year. Do your
homework and be well prepared for the interview.

Read the Salary Survey Report
A Salary Survey Report will provide you the current value of your job
which will help in the negotiation.

Analyze your worth
List down all your achievements and gather all information and
documents needed to prove that you’re worth the raise.

Practice your negotiating skills
Just like preparing for an interview, you need to practice in front of
the mirror or ask a friend to help you in asking questions.

Know the psyche of your manager
It’s important to know what type of conversation might put him off and
what factors might trigger his interest.

Be clear about the amount of the raise
Evaluate how much raise you will be asking and be prepared for the
justification you will be providing.
