Job Description: Mattel is seeking a UNIX administrator for a 12 month contract to aid in the support of various UNIX systems which provide business and application services to its business. Duties will include general UNIX administration, ticket resolution and some project work. Position will work with 7 others UNIX team members located in the USA. Some oncall or after hours work may be required. Qualifications desired: • BS or BA in computer science. • Good work ethic and ability to work with minimal to moderate oversight. • 3+ years of experience as UNIX system administrator including hands on experience in: o OS installation and patching (AIX 5, Solaris 8+). o Volume management with Veritas and LVM. o Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions. o Understanding of shell scripting, perl, and environment troubleshooting. o Comfortable calling into vendor support and working issues independently. o Familiar with common security standards and hardening for UNIX. o Familiarity with BigBrother monitoring framework of benefit. • Experience with RedHat LINUX EL or Fedora a plus. • Experience with using Netbackup as backup/recovery tool desirable. • Past experience with BMC/Remedy ticketing application for help desk requests. • Good communication skills and proficient in the English language. • Experience with change control procedures and processes. • General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products. UNIX ADMINISTRATOR WITH SAN EXPERIENCE START DATE: IMMEDIATE Shift: 1st (USA daytime) Duration: 12 months Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Description: Client is seeking an administrator with UNIX and SAN experience for a 12 month contract to aid in the support of various UNIX based systems which provide business and application services to its business. Duties will include L1 and L2 UNIX and SAN administration at Clientâ €™s Phoenix data center. Duties will also include ticket resolution and moderate project work. If qualified, position will also aid Client in architecture decisions and directions for future purchases and projects. Position will work with 7 others UNIX team members located in the USA. Some oncall or after hours work may be required. Successful candidates will need to work independently with little supervision and work well with others. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Qualifications desired: • BS or BA in computer science. • Good work ethic and ability to work with minimal oversight. • Works well in a team atmosphere to collaborate on projects and tasks with others. • 3+ years of experience as a SAN administrator with the following experience: o Trained in EMC SAN management tools (ECC, Navisphere) o Experienced in setting up RAID groups for optimal performance. o Experienced in zoning, masking and configuration of storage to multiple host platforms. o Ability to monitor, react and resolve issues that may arise with performance or hardware failures. o Comfortable working with vendor support on any issues that may arise. o Experience with Hitachi storage a plus. o EMC RecoverPoint experience highly desireable. • 5+ years of experience as UNIX system administrator including hands on experience in: o OS installation and patching (AIX 5, Solaris 8+). o Volume management with Veritas and LVM. o Experience installing and configuring PowerPath. o Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions. o Understanding of shell scripting, perl, and environment troubleshooting. o Comfortable calling into vendor support and working issues independently. o Familiar with common security standards and hardening for UNIX. o Familiarity with BigBrother monitoring framework of benefit. • Experience with using Netbackup as backup/recovery tool desirable. • Past experience with BMC/Remedy ticketing application for help desk requests. • Good communication skills and proficient in the English language. • Experience with change control procedures and processes. • General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products. • Experience with RedHat LINUX EL or Fedora a plus.
