WARNING:
If the .jof file does not exist in the same directory as the .pm4 file, the
following error message is displayed: "2951: Job File not found."
The PM4 file retains the name of the .JOF file, but NOT the path to the .JOF
file.
If you experience any file-saving problems using this method, then we
recommend you discontinue its use.
Also, problems saving files may be compounded by network permissions. If you
experience the error "208: Cannot save or write file", then check the DOS
and network attributes of the .PM4 and .JOF files, and of the network
directories they are being saved in.
Problem:
In v9.0 SmartCAM, the Job File (.jof) file is automatically saved along with
the Process Models (.pm4) file as requested by many of our customers. For
users that prefer the previous paradigm, there is no obvious method for
saving the .jof file using a different path or file name.
Solution:
You can make an addition to the SmartCAM Application .ini file that enables
the ability to save only the .pm4 file, and save the .jof file with a
different name and/or to a different directory.
Procedure: Follow these steps to edit your SmartCAM application .ini file.
Step 1: Open the application .ini (example; pmill.ini) file from the
\sm9cfg\home directory into a text editor (Edit Plus).
Step 2: At the end of the [Paths] section, add the line: IndJob=1
Step 3: "Save" the .ini file.
Step 4: Start your SmartCAM application, read in a file. Go to "File" -
"Save As" Notice you now have "Job File:" select line and a "Save Job Also"
check box.
Summary:
Making the above change to your SmartCAM Application .ini file, (pmill.ini,
ffm.ini..etc), will allow control for saving just your .PM4 files (Process
Model) for both "File" - "Save As".

Hello,
I have upgraded to version 11.5 Turning and I use a standard .jof file for
a turning tooling package.
When I create a new .pm4 file and save it, SmartCam creates a .pm4 and a New
.jof file with the same name.
I would like to use my standard .jof file and Only save the new Shape.pm4
file.
Is there an option to do this.
