Ed,

I have been using Ideas8 for awhile now and it is not as user friendly as they make it seem. There are no graphics to run like ShowCut, they think cause it's a solid there is no gouging!! if all you use is solid files everything is ok, but if you import files and machine beware!! basically I use it to create geometry with draft and radius and cut outs or extrusions, which it does very quickly then export files to FreeForm for toolpaths!!

Ideas needs to be developed alot more before I pay for any up grades!!
Good luck!!!

A very disappointed Ideas8 user but a very happy FreeForm user,

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] Freeform/Genarative

Greetings all

Just wondering if any Freeform users have made the switch to Generative Mach and
what are the results ? Any drawbacks any advantages. Thinking about taking the class
but would like to know if I would be wasting time. We are mold shop so I would be
cutting cavity/core steel and also electrodes .Are there quite a bit more options than
freeform to get to a end result.

Regards
