This is not a direct SmartCAM question, but it does relate to CNC programming. I thought that someone in this group might have some insights.
I am trying to automate the programming of an Agie Mondo Star EDM sinker. There are no provisions on the machine for external programming. No ASCII language at all. All programming is by direct operator input at the machine. I have had extensive discussions with Agie USA. The best they can offer is a software module that emulates the Mondo control on a standard PC. With this software a programmer can create a "program" off-line that can be transferred to the EDM machine by floppy disc. The Mondo interface is almost entirely mouse dependant. To input numbers, a numeric keypad window pops up. To input text, a keyboard window pops up. The EDM process is defined by filling in required blank fields. What I want to do is script this Mondo Star controller software so that I can create an EDM program from data I generate externally. What I think I need is a scripting software package that can take over the mouse actions, since the emulator is mouse driven. If I can create a script that will drive the mouse and thereby the emulator, I think that I can automate the "programming of this machine-tool" Does anyone know of such a mouse-action scripting software? Does anyone have any input?
