Been there, done that. Each control panel must have a unique name, even if it is in a separate menu defined in a separate PCB file. Somehow SmartCAM finds one occurrence of a control panel and will display that panel at all locations bearing the same name.
Bug or feature? Whichever it is, since it is undocumented it can be a pain. It is a better practice to have unique names for all panels anyway. On occasion I have also taken advantage of this bug, feature, whatever. It allows me to place common control panels in multiple menus and tool boxes while only having to maintain it in a single PCB file. I made lemonade. ============================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Incorporated mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.highsteel.com ============================================= -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2000 2:13 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [mfg-smartcam] Stumped on CTK problem Importance: High Hi all, I have a series of ctk panels that access macro commands through action buttons. These macro commands program various types of holes, such as: Spot-Drill-Tap, Spot-Drill-Bore, etc. These panels and macros have worked fine since their inception. I had to produce a whole new set of panels for metric workpieces. I felt that the easiest way to do this was to open the panels in CTK and do a save-as and give it a metric designation, then go through each action button, rename it, and point it to the equivalent metric macro. Saves a lot of time, right? Well it worked fine for the new metric panels, but here's the stumper: Every original panel that I did a save-as to now shows the metric panel when in Smartcam, not the original. When I open the original panel in CTK, it still shows the original panels! I double-checked the .ini file [UserMenu] and everything is correct; separate lines for the original and for the metric panels. What you access in Smartcam is NOT the same as what you open in CTK. It's as if some sort of association was made in the panels when I did the save-as (bug?). I'll head off the simple questions: Yes, I closed and re-opened Smartcam after every .ini file change. I double and triple checked all pertinent paths and file names. I tried renaming the .pcb files and changing the .ini [UserMenu] definitions to match. Nothing works. I am stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
