ALL: I have had Norton's GHOST drive image program for some time but had not used it until today. I was asked to clone a hard drive at my sister's Trophy business. After cloning the drive I thought, what the heck, and shelled to DOS and entered VOL to see the volume serial number, I looked at the newly cloned destination drive and found that Norton's GHOST will match the Volume Serial number the same as the source C drive. Smartcam Users now get new life, buy Norton GHOST and clone a Smartcam backup drive today, you will not be down when your current drive ceases to operate. Just pop in the cloned drive and you are done. You will NOT have to get a new license key re-issued. Moving the " license keyed " volume serial number is part of the Norton GHOST duplication process. FWIW, I also own Drive Image that comes with Partition Magic, I have never tried this with Drive Image but suspect that it would also do the same operation. BTW, I never had to buy GHOST, it came free with a newly purchased hard drive. Michael
