I have done this same sort of thing using digitized parts (teeth, actually). The data came to me as a cloud of points. I wrote a basic program to convert it to a CAMCAD Standard file and brought it in that way. The Create - Surface - From_Mesh worked quite well, as long as the polylines were in order, and unidirectional. Sometimes I'd get a 'Failed to create surface', and I'd change the start or end element to half-way to find out where the offending profile(s) were. It usually 'failed' when there was a gap between polylines on one end or the other.

It has around 750 or so lines in it. Does anyone have a way of laying a surface over it for machining. ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ====================================================================== ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ======================================================================
