Tony,

I just finished a reseller training on Gibbs at their Moorpark facility. I am thoroughly impressed by both the company and the software, and, as a long-time SmartCAM user, I found it an easy transition to GibbsCAM. You really should give it a look.

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] SmartCAM and Pro/E

Hello SmartCAM users,
I am currently working for a customer that has a site license of Pro/Engineer (every module including Pro/NC). Their Machine Shop is currently using SmartCAM to program from prints. Due to SDRC phasing out SmartCAM, they are looking for a new CAM package. The obvious choice is Pro/NC because they do not have to pay any more and they can program from native models. However, the learning curve is an issue, and they would like a choice for an "easier" software. Has anyone experienced a similar situation, or have recommendations for a current SmartCAM users transition into other CAM packages? Thanks.

P.S. When will SDRC completely "phase out" SmartCAM to Generative Machining?
