Ricky It's not clear if your using a center cut mill, but I'm sure you are if you were plunging. What I would do in your case I would ramp the slot. I would start .05 above the part and move to a Z-.025 with your X or Y axis and back again  with another Z-.025 ramp (total of .050). Continuing until you get to your final depth.

MY MACHINE ONLY HAS 7500 RPM SO IVE TRIRD CUTTING IT WITH A 4FLT CARDIDE EMILL.
AT 7200PRM AND 10 IPM AT .05 DEPTH OF CUT PER PASS. MY EMILL ARE NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE.
PLUNGING AT 1 IPM. I WOULD APPERCIATE ANY HELP .IM NO STAINLESS FREAK TO START WITH
