We use Pro/E 2001 which is the latest release.
I have it installed on my PC for the sole purpose
of reading in Pro/E models or assembly files.

>From within Pro/E I read in the part I want.
I then save the part as an IGES file with the
WIRE FRAME settings.

ALT Tab back to SmartCAM Advanced Wire EDM.

Run the attached macro igs.mcl which
converts the Pro/E .igs file to a .pm4 file.

I've attached another macro which basically
deletes all the vertical lines that connect
various profiles.
This is up to you if you want to use it.

The iges file format from Pro/E works
great. We have no problems.

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] Pro-E file format for Smartcam?

I have a customer that is using Pro-E and has volunteered to send a Cad
file. I know I can handle any .dxf he can send but I'm leery of requesting
an .iges file for compatibility concerns.

Can someone recommend what specifically I can request from him as far as
file format is concerned that will import easily into Smartcam Advanced
Production Milling. (note: I also have Autocad LT 98, if it would be of any
use in conversions)
