I am trying to figure out how to pass a 4-digit program number to the Code generator when coding from the .pm4.
I've been searching the archives because I thought I remembered a discussion about this awhile ago. The only reference I found to it I snipped in below. But, I could not locate the resolution. Is anyone doing this? John Morris Kennley Corporation - "Because you want Quality, Now." <snip> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [mfg-smartcam] Code with no edits? Date: Fri, 28 Apr 2000 15:19:59 GMT Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> The code editing I do most lies in three places. (1) Typing in a unique 4 digit fanuc program #, and typing in the path and name of the process model, in the beginning of the program (I drop the "C: \" off of the path): O1234 (SMARTCAM FILE=T1795\Rev_D72930\1795DS) Any way to have a prompt ask for 4 digit program number, and for the path and process model name to be automatically coded in? (2) When the same step/tool plunges into material, or into open space. If plunging into material, as in a pocket, I obviously want to slow the feedrate down. If plunging into open space, as when milling the edge of a workpiece, I want the feedrate to feed down quickly to save cycle time. Is an answer to this one short of using two different steps/tools for each particular condition? Maybe a macro that would insert feed changes on grouped toolpaths? (3) Getting the block-skip switches to start and end exactly where I want. See simple example .pm4 and .cod files (attached). ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ======================================================================
