Since my company is
doing away with the cnc side of the operation I have been looking at going out
on my own.
I am looking to get
a lathe w/ live tooling option as well as a vertical w/ pallet or small
horizontal. These machines will be placed in a company we now do work for and
will be at 30%-50% capacity. I will have to go looking for the rest of the
work.
All their work is
alum, 2 1/2" dia turning, flat plate on the mill.
The cnc equip here
is 10 yr old okuma, too old and slow.
It has been
suggested I look at Akira-Seiki. I need fast and cheap.
Any success/horror
stories are welcome.
