If all works out I will be getting an Akira-Seiki mill with a Mitsibishi high speed control.
I currently program "part profile" for our Okuma mills. they will turn comp on with as little as .0001" move. So when programming a .251" wide slot with a .250" mill, I can drop into the slot and make a comp move over to the wall of the slot with no problem. I am wondering about the Mitsubishi. My comp values for the okuma are the tool radius.
I am "assuming" that with the mitsubishi/fanuc control I will need to code tool center to be able to cut the same .251" slot with a .250" dia. e-mill?

thanks
Bob
