We did an in depth evaluation of Catia last year including a pilot project.
High end system. CAD very good. CAM weak in UNIX, not yet available in Windows. Frequent data exchange problems with other systems. Kept addressing problems with "that will be in the next release", and it wasn't. Project failed big time. Catia may work for you, but it didn't in our particular application. We build steel bridges and one of the failures of Catia is that it couldn't do a large radius arc. After another evaluation and pilot we went with Unigraphics, no regrets. P.S.
