You should check out the capability of Bysoft on Bystronics lasers for programming rotary axis... just specify tube intersection parameters and you get arcs, ellipse, even parabola where needed. Well, I guess it is CAM now, but it was originally designed to run on the control. I haven't seen any other CAM package that could do that.
