Naw, I just got back from 2-1/2 weeks off...it's taking the grey matter a bit of time to re-adjust. On to Smartcam; just thought you all might find it interesting I've found that for our 2-1/2 axis programming, Mastercam is not as productive as our "macroized" Smartcam. I've worked with MC quite a bit, and it requires more user input (mouse clicks, typing, etc) to accomplish the same tasks, at least in my company's application. We build progressive stamping dies which are basically flat plates of varying thickness bolted together along with wire edm'ed punches. I will say that MC is better than SC in it's 2D milling capabilities, especially for odd shaped pockets. I can't speak for 3D as we don't do any. But for drilling lots of holes, SC can't be beat.
