Is the conversion successful? If the old JSF is corrupt
SmartCAM can be pretty forgiving about reading it anyway. If it isn't successful
then try loading a similar JSF first, then merge the SH3. He may have to do a
little work, but at least all won't be lost.
If the syntax error is coming from the shape file and is not
successfully reading it, then I'm not sure what to do. Let us know, or if
possible, attach the shape file. HTH
