Jeff,

In any input field, type "lenp(N)". "N" is the element number of any
element in a profile. If you keep your polyline as a separate profile, and
it's element number is 47, then typing "lenp(47)" in an input field will
return the length of the polyline.

You can isolate a polyline that is part of a longer profile by changing
it's layer or step temporarily. This makes it a separate profile.
