Hi
all,
I received our new
license key (thank you for the many responses), but now am having trouble
activating it. Every person in our company network has their own profile setup.
The replacement pc is running Win2000 Pro. I'm not sure which user was
logged on when our IT dept. installed SmartCam. When we try to run the License
key administrator, we get an error. After looking through the hard drive, I
noticed that pmill.ini, and licadm.ini are nowhere to be found. Obviously,
this is due to SmartCam being installed under a user other than the current one;
it doesn't show up under the current user's profile.
I copied the
"default" directory (the one containing the .ini files) from another pc,
and I could then run the license key program. But it won't allow me to save it,
stating that it cannot find the file on one of our network drives. I don't know
which configuration file points to the license key, so, I couldn't try editing
that. I had a similar problem a while back with a re-install of SmartCam, where
it wouldn't run and I had to edit the "default" section of smartCam.ini to point
to pmill.ini, but this situation is different.
Can anyone give me
some guidelines as to how we should be logged on this pc, or any pc with
Win2K, when we install SmartCam, so that any user profile can program? Or
can you give me a work around? Our IT dept. will not allow us to run the pc
under administrator, so that's not an option.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the long read.
