...that whomever decides to carry on will provide
space for this mailing list!

I have been lurking about for years reading and
enjoying the interaction between members of
this list. The willingness to provide unconditional
assistance is a remarkable attribute and shows a
level of professionalism unmatched in my experience.

I regret that I have not made a contribution to date,
but there really hasn't been a topic about which I have
adequate knowledge to respond. My strength is not
SmartCam as much as figuring work-a rounds to get
the most out of the limited capabilities of our machine.
I write an average of 1k to 2k programs a year and
perform secondary operations on about 70 percent of
the parts. Until four weeks ago I had been using PM 11.1
to program a 2 1/2 axis router with four high speed
motors and two piggy-back drills.

Then came IWF 2002, the woodworking industries answer
to IMTS, and the reason for this posting.

My employer decided we needed to upgrade, and he did.

Now I am trying to deal with issues such as dual tables,
one router motor and a 12 tool atc, a bank of drills with
z and horizontal xy capability, an aggregate head (c axis?),
and last but not least a molder head that rotates 360
degrees.

I've loaded a previously unopened version of Advanced PM 11.5,
downloaded and printed out The Unofficial SmartCam
Macro Cammand Dictionary , printed a comprehensive
alphabetical list of template words, dusted off my copy of
CNC Process Modeling, and attempted to construct a .tmp file
and, with limited documentation, answer correctly questions in
the .smf file.

No apologies for the lengthy segue leading to my request but I
felt obliged to provide some introduction and background.

The control is a GE Fanuc Series 160i-M and the machine is a
Northwood 265. If anyone has an applicable .tmp file they could
share it would be greatly appreciated. For that matter, any .tmp
file that would show correct context dealing with the issues I
listed would be a help.

Thanks in advance and Best Regards,

Jim Stephenson
