There are two of us here using surfcam. Both were using smartcam and are making the transition. We have the" 2 axis plus" package which cost around
$6,000 last year -but the prices have gone up considerably and there is yearly maintenance. The cad package that comes with it is in my opinion Awesome! It is the same package developed by a3ds Paralogix. Surfcam has integrated it into their software and you can design a solid model and with one mouse click bring it right into the surfcam software to machine. I like the power of the programs, and they are generally easy to use- but check out your support contact in your area- this is important, because you cannot contact surfcam directly! Surfcam has the opinion that the dealer has to take care of support and only the dealer can contact them if you have a problem that they cannot help you with - personally I want to be able to contact someone direct, so this is a problem for us.
