8 lbs per gallon - fresh water. Salt water is more but that varies with it's
density.

Good Morning All,

I apologize in advance for this, but I need to know the official weight of
a U.S. gallon of water. I know liquids are usually measured in volume, but
I need to put a water tank on an axle, and need to know if the axle can
carry the weight. I searched but couldn't find the information I need. I
figured with the knowledge and talent of this group, someone could help me.
