The 2001 is a model of perfection. It has an Expert Machinist loaded with pre specified UDFs. It may be unfair to judge the standard based upon an older version. It kinda reminds me of Smartcam macros a lot. I had a guy write my Post and, boy, he loaded it up with some more stuff . The Intralink version of Pro/E gives me access to a Commonspace to retrieve, view and import models both locally and on the internet. He configured my Pro/Mag straight to a manufacturing portal, bypassing all that nonsense of create this and create that before machining. He is good : he worked to develop some stuff for Pro/E and now he writes Posts wrldwide. I deal with five buttons only and I can assemble ten models to same window and program them individually and CL Data them individually to save time. That learning curve crap is far dusted into the wind with this 2001 monster. Truly you have to know the basic pro/e stuff but that doesn't take a century to grab. We use most of the systems here because my predecessor was a cad/cam fanatic. But my boys here love it , even the dummiest crazy Bill plays with it evertime you turn around. I believe there is a free upgrade to 2001...call Rod Nevar at 216- 938-0925 and talk your way out to enjoy the 2001. You are not using an up-to-date cad software if you are not using the 2001 Expert Machinist....Larry

We are currently running Pro/Man Rev20 and haven't upgraded to the new Rev's. Mainly because the lack of support and training on the Pro/Man end of the software along with some post problems. Does the 2001 Rev of Pro/Man have a pre-loaded UDF for picking holes off a Pro/E model. Something like Spot Drill, Drill & Tap. With out having to pick each location would be nice. We are presently doing all hole drilling using Macro's in SmartCam. The macro's just make the process so much quicker then Pro/Man does. I do run a few UDF's for Pro/Man that whore built a couple of years back . But I have not built any myself.
