You are absolutely right Mr.Gemmel! It would seem that with the bigger cam software companies low level toolpath control isn't a priority or a concern.

UG is ROBUST. There are things you can do that the creators of SmartCam could only dream up. (So when EDS bought them they included it in the new UG releases) UG is unparalelled in milling. The wire module is similar to SC (imagine that) but not as flexible. I only do lathe in SC, but our UG lathe guy is having all kinds of prblems (99% are of his own making) Today UG is simply a better sofware. There are a few things that SC will do faster (like creating a letter pattern for a waterjet), but for the most part UG is lightening fast for creating a program. It has all kinds of macro capabilities, that are similar to SC, and UG has a great, incredible flexible template concept. I can go on and on. I work in a demanding aerospace shop and have yet to find something UG cannot do well. I do some tooldesign as well as program.
