Lee, example:
7/16-20 unf-3a (external thread) Plate thickness .0003"-.0006" side .0003" * 2 = .0006 .0006" * 2 = .0012 Pitch high .4050 - .0012 = .4038 Pitch low .4019 - .0006 = .4013 I would set my Production range at .4015-.4020 If using a CERTIFIED go/no go ring gauge I run the no go at a minimum of two turns on or drag completely over. Functionality can suffer with plating, this setting over the years gives me the least amount of trouble and no scrap. Make sure the plater has the proper gauges to check the parts after plate.
