If you ever
question whether a virus is a hoax or not, go to
Symantec AntiVirus Research Center - Virus
Hoaxes
Symantec provides a database
of viruses that do not exist, despite Internet rumors. Search for a hoax by keyword.
www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html Just a reminder, viruses should be verified before
hitting the panic button and e-mailing all of your addresses with false
information. The McAfee website also provides a search to
verify viruses from hoaxes. If you discover you have a true
virus, I would contact your MIS department and let them notify
others.
Hope this helps-
