Hi All, Due to company edict, we are looking to replace SmartCAM as our CAM package. So I'd like to get some opinions about what we will replace it with.
Since we use CATIA V5 for our engineering system, some are pushing for CATIA's manufacturing module (the engineering dept. of course!). Personally, I'd rather stick to a company that's built its rep in manufacturing not engineering. In that regard, MasterCAM and EdgeCAM are probably at the top of my list due to their associativity with CATIA models (through step translators). As to what we will be using it for: 3-4 full axis horizontal and vertical milling as well as 4-axis lathe (mill/turn) operations, both mill and lathe operation on fairly complex parts. Since I highly respect the members of the SmartCAM user's group, any thoughts, info or insights would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
