Try this …

Ok, I can't tell by the screenshot if you have Office XP or not, but it

looks like you have some version of office installed.  Check for the

following, do a ctrl-alt-del and when the window pops up click "Task

Manager".  Now if win2000 is like XP there will be a tab that says

"processes" or something like that.  Look at all the processes that are

running, if you see CTFMON.EXE, highlight it and end that process.  Make

sure your Outlook is open to give that progran a chance to load.  If it

was there and you ended that process, restart smartcam and see if it

still locks up.  This fixed mine as far as I know, I've been off for 3

days.  If this fixed your problem I can send you microsofts instrutions

on how to disable that process, it isn't really needed.

If this didn't help, this is what I did to find this fix.  I started

the computer and opened what I know  I usually have open when I have

problems.  I then ended processes until I found the one that was causing

problems.  Of course this won't help if you have a hardware problem, but

it won't hurt to try.  If you have MS Office XP running, there is a good

chance that this ctfmon.exe process is messing you up.

Hi All,

Now that I have been running SmartCam ver.10 on WinXP for a couple of months now, I have noticed A problem.

First problem that I can recreate:

When I use "keep defaults" the program locks up, (no confirmation box) the mouse moves O.K. and I can switch to other programs

that are running but in the SmartCam program it just beeps when I click on anything. I have to use the task manager to close

SmartCam and loose any unsaved work.

Second, it does the same thing if I switch to another SmartCam program if the first is not saved.

I do know that I must save often after working with Win98SE but sometimes I forget.

Any Help

Thanks

William Ray
