As many folks know, nycccp.net has been shutting down this month. Previously, all mhvlug.org services (wiki, planet, mailing lists) were hosted there.
We've been moving things off one at a time (the wiki and planet moved over the weekend, and thankfully no one noticed). The mailing list had a bit more "interesting" time in getting moved off. It's actually been down the last couple of days, for which I appologize. Moving time also meant that it was a good time to reevalute mailing list software. While sympa had some advantages, it was a bit complex for our needs, and the constant certificate collision problems were actually scaring a lot of people away from the mailing list. As such, the new email list is here, with a new (slightly shorter) address: [email protected] Everyone on the list will have gotten a welcome message, which includes the URL to the list info: http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo. If you wish to change your subscription options, please do so through that interface. The announce list will be setup later, but I wanted to get this up and running first. If someone wanted to be so kind as to update the wiki with the new urls for mailing lists, you'd win big bonus points on my list. :) The new machine is doing grey listing to help reduce spam load (there were 30 spam posts to the list in the first couple of hours that it was up). This means that emails may take a little bit longer to get through to the main list, but they will get through (as long as you are subscribed with the email address that you post with). Comments are welcome.
