I didn't have the opportunity to reply to your original post before I deleted it. I run a dual-boot: Windows/ME and Fedora 7. I have a shared FAT32 partition. I had Firefox and Thunderbird set up so I could access a common configuration from Win/ME or Fedora. I used this setup to access email and Usenet newsgroups. You inquired about war stories. Here are mine: 1. Mozilla Foundation no longer supports Windows/ME. 2. This summer, I changed ISPs when switching from dial-up to DSL. From the Linux side, I tried to edit my Thunderbird profile to reflect this change. This caused damage to my profile. I can no longer access email from Linux Thunderbird. I can still access Usenet newsgroups. According to Fedoraforum, this is a known problem with Fedora and a Bugzilla has been submitted. The problem has remained unresolved by Fedora since the summer. I realize these war stories are not directly applicable to your situation. I learned how to set up my shared config by Googling, using terms like "dual-boot". I found about five different approaches which seemed inconsistent. I resolved my confusion via posts to a Mozillazine forum. _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Dec 5 - Open Source Show and Tell Jan 2 - TBD Feb 6 - DBUS Mar 5 - Setting up a platform-independent home/small office network using Linux
