FYI,
anyone using the Thunderbird email client at multiple sites and is tired 
of wasting 20-40 seconds per day can install an SMTP button...  :-)

1. Download Buttons

to your computer by right-clicking on the link and choosing "Save As."
(right click on the green icon and 'save link as')
2. In the Thunderbird "Tools" menu, choose "Add-ons" Click on the + 
sign, and browse to and choose the buttons!-0.4.7-tb.xpi file you just 
downloaded.
3. Restart Thunderbird.
4. Right-click on the Thunderbird toolbar and choose "Customize." Drag 
and drop the "Select SMTP!" button onto your toolbar.

 >From your new "Select SMTP" button you can set up as many SMTP servers 
as you'd like, and switch them up in one click.
