Thanks for the clarifications.

I selected port 60112 as follows: Azureus needs a port number between
49152 and 65534. My zipcode is 12601. I put 12601 into a shift-register
with wraparound.

I've thought about setting up a Linux box as a router. I have a spare
Dell Dimension L PC. And I was really excited when I first learned of
the capabilities of dd-wrt on the Linksys. I'd like to be able to
monitor and record dsl modem stats such as margin. I'd also like to be
able to do logging of packets to help me debug several problems I'm
having. I've looked into doing these on my Westell.

I just completed my first BT download (which would not have been
possible without your help). It was the Knoppix DVD iso (4.12 GB total).
The download took 30 hours, during which time my PC was not usable for
any other online activity. (PC is 7-year-old Dell Dimension 4100. PIII
with 128 MB RAM running Fedora 7. DSL is budget 768/128. I did limit
Azureus upload speed per recommendations.) Once I started Azureus,
iptables started logging packets to port 60112. At the end of the
download, it had logged 30567 packets!
