Hey guys, I'm trying to start a group of programming enthusiasts, and I thought a few of you may be interested.
http://softwaredev.meetup.com/103/ I'd like to meet once a month or so for a few hours and rotate between the following, depending on what people wanted to do: - Have a talk on a programming language or paradigm that others would like to learn about (functional programming, lisp/scheme, concatenative stack-based languages, etc) - Run through some programming problem sets from previous programming competitions (ACM, ICFP, Google Code Jam, etc), solving them in groups in different ways and discussing the results - Participating in a programming competition live (where groups are permitted; like ICFP) - Choosing an open-source project and making improvements to it I could do all of this on my own, but my motivation really seems to come from doing things in groups. So if you are interested, join up and let me know what you think. Pass this on if you know others that may be interested. -Frank -- ---------------------------------- Frank Wallingford [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Jun 4 - Sqeak! and eToys Jul 2 - KVM (Tenative) Aug 6 - Zenos Sep 3 - TBD
