[snip about 40 lines of HOW-TO] # emerge mozilla-firefox-bin :-D If you find yourself doing these kinds of hacks or compiling from source code in package based distributions, perhaps it's time to rethink your distro ( http://www.gentoo.org ). Anyhow, you could also check out OpenJDK/IcedTea ( https://openjdk.dev.java.net ) which would let you run native 64-bit Java in your 64-bit Firefox. By the way, is anyone else becoming more and more disenfranchised with Firefox? The performance on Linux is really sucking out big time. For example, Google 'javascript speed test' and pit every installed browser you have. Firefox is just about dead last on my machine -- HELL, it even loses by about 20% (!!) to FF3 in WinXP in KVM on the same machine. That's pretty pathetic. :-/ -jesse -- There are 10 types of people in this world, those that can read binary and those that can not. _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Jun 4 - Sqeak! and eToys Jul 2 - KVM (Tenative) Aug 6 - Zenos Sep 3 - TBD
