Wow thanks for all the responses. Sorry for my mistakes in the original
post, that is Django is Python not PHP.
So With that vetted, here is my last question, not sure Ruby is the best
language for this though:
Scenario:
Given a database in a small office you want to create a "Web GUI" so
that different employees can do there work against the data ( enter,
consume, etc. )
This database will include images, that is faxes and other picture
formated material that is not is text format.
Lastly there should be a "public" web page that customers of the
products or services can access there "account" information.
I would say that is a normal development effort that combines both "in
house" and "external aka web" demands.
Ruby and Rails seems on the surface to be a way to accomplish the task, but
I also have seen a lack of standard library functions ( as compared to more
mature packages )
So the new question is:
1) What is the best way to implement the above scenario? Is Ruby with Rails
an over all solution?
2) If Ruby is, what is needed? what Gems come in to play?
3) Also is there a web site the covers "frame works" or "solutions" that
Rails can do for different problem domains
