Is that the only use, or will you be storing more than that?  Will this
server be on a regular home network, or do you currently have a server(s) of
some sort already set up?

Using scp(ssh) is a safer option, and also carrying a copy on an usb stick
as a back up would be easiest.  But if you have a server(s) already out
there, then it all depends on your needs.

You could always store your bookmarks on google notebook (just kidding)...
