Hello mhvluggers,

I have a pretty common routine that I preform every time I start up my
laptop, which goes generally like this:

  1. Launch three termnals, and arrange them to fill my Desktop 1
  2. Go to Desktop 2 and start up Pidgin, and XChat and arrange them
  3. Go to Desktop 3 and start up Firefox + whatever else I need at the
moment.

Since these tasks are routine and monotonous I imagined there must be a way
for me automate it with a shell script. However after googling for a while I
couldn't find a way to do it. So, my question is - is there a console
program that you know of that lets me start a specific X app on a specific
desktop, at a specific position with specific dimensions?

Thanks for your time.

Best regards, Maxim Shkurygin
