New toy that I hope to get before next meeting. I was looking around for
something to run Android on and a friend of mine found the SmartQ 7 which is
an "Mobile Internet Tablet"that comes with Ubuntu Linux installed! It's
basically a netbook PC with NO keyboard and a 7" touch screen. It can not
only run Linux but can duel boot Android ( although without the GPS, compass
and accelerometers don't think it's the best choice for development ) or
almost anything that can run on the ARM chip. So this makes it the best
little pad for reading pdf's or email or watching videos etc. The real
kicker is the price I have one on order for $211.02 shipped from Hong-Kong.
If I have it by next meeting I will bring it to show. Again this is to
replace my Nokia N770 (which I bought from Sean, and loved nearly to death!
) not for Android development. Just sharing with the group my new "toy"
purchase.
