While doing a fresh install of Fedora 13 I got an installer (Anaconda)
crash. A check of RedHat bugzilla shows this to be an occurrence of a
reported problem 520044. I would like to add a comment to this bugzilla
entry including: 1. traceback attachment and 2: lengthy textual info.

The crash occurs at the point where Anaconda is preparing to prompt for
package selection. It fails opening an rpm database.

I've never used bugzilla before, and a *cursory* Google search didn't
yield an answer to the following questions:

When Anaconda crashes, it displays the traceback screen and offers the
option to post to bugzilla.

1. Will it let me specify that I'm adding a comment to an existing bug
(#520044)? If not, how can I capture the traceback info so that I can
manually submit it as an attachment?

2. I'd like to add a lengthy textual comment. Can I cut-and-paste this
at the time of the Anaconda crash? Here is the comment (it needs some
editing before submission to bugzilla):

============================================================================================================================================================================================

I'm currently running F11 and am trying to replace it with a fresh
install of F13, using the same partitioning layout.

The installer (Anaconda 13.42) proceeds to the point where I specify my
custom partitioning layout. It then prompts me about storing a boot
loader. Shortly after I reply to that, the installer gets an "unhandled
exception".

rpmdb: Program version 4.8 doesn't match environment version 4.7
error: db3 error (-30971) from dbenv -> open: DB_VERSION_MISMATCH

Initially, I tried to install a downloaded F13 DVD ISO from HDD.

I posted that install problem here:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=246567
"F13 fresh install from hdd fails with db_version_mismatch"

I suspected the problem was with the procedure I was using to install
from HDD, so I burned my F13 DVD ISO to DVD-RW and tried to install from
that. I got the identical failure. (I verified the SHA256SUM of the F13
ISO and I did a media-check of the DVD-RW).

So it looks like there's a problem with the install parms I'm
specifying. My most recent Fedora install is F11, and the install
interface for F13 has changed, so I'd like some help with specifying the
parms.

First, some background regarding my PC HDD layout:

HDD #1: (sda) WD102BB The MBR that I use for booting is here. GRUB is
installed in that HDD.

HDD #2: (sdb) ST310001A All of my Linux partitions are here: Fedora
"/" is sdb6. Fedora "/boot" is sdb5. Fedora /home" is sdb9.

In the install process, I specify "Create custom layout" so that I can
reuse my existing partitions.

The next screen is specify "Data storage" vs "Install target". I'm
unclear on this and have tried several variations. I'm unclear on where
WD102BB should go. I don't want anything installed on it, but it
contains my MBR. So, because it contains the MBR, should it go in the
"Install target" column with the "boot" button checked? If not, should
the "boot" button be checked on the ST310001A?

The next screen is the custom layout screen, where I specify the mount
points for "/", "/boot", and "/home".

The next screen concerns the boot loader. I uncheck the button "install
boot loader on /dev/sda", since the boot loader that is currently there
is OK.

The next screen that should appear concerns package selection, but
Anaconda crashes when trying to open an rpm database.

Also of note, whenever I run the installer, a copy of the file
"rhinstall-install.img" is stored in sdb1. There is no legitimate reason
that I can see for the installer to store anything in sdb1. sdb1
contains a collection of downloaded documents.

3. Is networking up at the time that Anaconda is preparing for package
selection?
