My understanding is while hard links are limited to the same file system
they are updated when you move the file associated with the link. Symbolic
don't auto update which can have its benifits too like if you want to delete
a file and will replace it at a later time and don't want to break the link
like a hard link would.

I understand the difference between hard links and symlinks, but don't (yet)
see where anyone would want to use a hard link instead of a symlink. In
what situations would a hard link be better or more appropriate? Thanks in
advance for any clarification on this!
