To be perfectly honest I'm not sure I know the full process myself. I'm a little fuzzy on the some of the details I don't see, like the stuff that the studio operator typically deals with exclusively. Specifically, I forget if the on-air audio is recorded using an audio-direct-to-CD device or if it's to a DAT tape, etc. Either way I think it requires a WAV -> MP3 and WAV -> OGG translation in Audacity. > Happily, I see I was wrong on both counts.
